Thank you for your interest in joining the premier re- enactment society based on the Isle of Man.
The Vikings of Mann society was formed in 2005 to assist and take part in the Isle of Man Viking Festival which has quickly become one to the leading Viking festivals in the world.
The Isle of Man has well known Viking roots and the aims of the society is to authentically re create various period of Manx Viking history from 798AD through to the early middle ages around 1200AD.
At our events and re-enactments members dress, eat, and live in the style which research has told us that the Vikings themselves lived. As the group grows we are also looking at representing the Isle of Man at other festivals in Europe and invitations have already been received for Russia, Poland and France as well as the popular events at Hastings, York and Largs in Scotland.
Although the authenticity of the group is important we also want to have fun and we have many social evenings around a camp fire. If you are interested in the Vikings, want to learn arts and craft from leather, dress making, weaving, basket making through to combat training then we would like you to join.
We are affiliated to The Vikings Organisation based in the UK who have many hundreds of members who all have experience in different aspects of Viking life. Your membership to the Vikings Of Mann also includes membership to this Organisation.
On joining we will assist you to get dressed and find your niche or particular interest that you would like to get involved in.
